Design and Access Statements
Design and Access Statements (DAS) are prepared by HDA to support planning applications and are a tool for clearly explaining the design rationale, from site appraisal and analysis, through to design principles and masterplan proposals.

Our DAS’s explain and illustrate the principles that lie behind design and access strategies in compliance with current planning legislation and guidance. The documents set out how the characteristics of a scheme have been informed by a methodical process of assessment, evaluation and design.
Our urban design and masterplanning team have experience of preparing Design and Access Statements for residential and mixed-use employment schemes in greenfield and brownfield settings all with unique characteristics and considerations.
